For patients.
At MimeCure, we are working on a new therapy called MC002, a promising treatment for people living with COPD. Our goal is to go beyond existing medications that only relieve symptoms or slow down the disease. With MC002, we aim to address the root cause: the damage to the lungs themselves. MC002 is a regenerative therapy. That means it is designed to help the lungs repair themselves by stimulating natural repair mechanisms that are often disrupted in people with COPD. This is an entirely new approach, and one we believe could open the door to true disease-modifying treatment in the future.
Where we are now
We’re still in the preclinical stage of developing MC002. That means we are currently conducting laboratory research and safety studies to make sure the treatment is both effective and safe. These steps are essential before we’re allowed to test the therapy in humans. We understand that many patients are eager for new options — and we’re deeply moved by the messages we receive from people who want to take part in our research. However, we must follow strict scientific and ethical guidelines. Until we receive regulatory approval to begin clinical trials, we are not permitted to include patients in testing or provide MC002 outside of a research setting.
What you can expect from us
We will continue to move forward with care, speed, and transparency.
As soon as we are allowed to begin clinical trials in patients, we will communicate this clearly through our website and social media channels.
If you are interested in participating, you will have the opportunity to learn more once recruitment officially begins.
What we ask from you
Please know that, for now, we cannot offer MC002 as a treatment to patients.
We cannot yet predict when the therapy will be available, as this depends on the outcome of ongoing studies and regulatory approval.
We cannot include individual patients in studies before those studies are approved and formally started.
Our commitment
We founded MimeCure with the belief that people with COPD deserve more than symptom relief — they deserve a treatment that restores what has been lost. We are working every day to make that vision a reality. We are grateful for your trust and support. Your interest gives meaning to our work and drives us to do better. If you would like to stay informed about our progress, we invite you to follow us on our LinkedIn channel or check this website for updates.
